Allegory of the Trümmerberge
The Trümmerberge are monuments to buried pasts, where destruction and renewal coexist. Like a scar healed over, they hide beneath their greenery the shattered remains of a broken city.
These hills embody transformation where history is not erased, but compressed and absorbed. Rubble once marked by violence is now softened by time, reclaimed by trees, and reimagined as leisure space.
Yet the past remains restless. Like a body metabolizing what it consumes, Berlin has digested its ruins, turning trauma into topography. These hills hold their truth in silence, waiting to be uncovered or forgotten.
