TIMELINE CITY

The morphology of the expendable city is based on the principle of architecture designed to be used only once.

The entire city, with all its inhabitants and objects, is designed to be used only once and then abandoned or destroyed. There is no reusing, recycling or repairing. As soon as an object no longer serves its purpose, it is left behind and rebuilt in a new form in front of the city. The process of consuming and recreating leads to a constant movement. The continuous creation of new structures requires a constant adaptation of the inhabitants to their environment.

The history of the city is visible as a forever existing trace. The inhabitants are thus constantly confronted with their past. The confrontation becomes a motivation to tackle and rethink the current problems. Elements of different stages of development, social conditions or political structures remain visible. In the city, a coexistence of objects from different times and different generations is created. The past is not erased or covered up, but slowly reclaimed by a new nature.

The new city collides with the nature that precedes it and forms itself according to it.
